As I wrote in my last post, I have created the Tarot Empress from a portrait of Empress Josephine.
I used the symbolism of the Rider Waite Empress and my own version of this portrait of the Empress Josephine painted by John Walford to create the Pan Pastel painting.
I used 9 x 12 inch pastel mat (brown shade) and Pan Pastel and pastel pencils. I have included the trees and waterfall in the background, the wheat fields in the foreground as well as the golden septre, the heart with the symbol of Venus and the diaamond stars in her hair and around her neck. Right now I'm working on a short video about the process of creating Josephine, Empress of the Tarot.
